Learn More About Sedation Dentistry
Many people avoid going to the dentist because of a bad experience as a child or painful procedures as an adult. Even when they are experiencing some type of pain or irritation in the mouth, they may avoid going to the dentist because of fear. We understand that going to the dentist can trigger anxious feelings but we are here to help! We offer a range of sedation dentistry options to relieve anxiety at dentist visits
and provide a much more relaxing and comfortable experience.
Sedation Dentistry Can Relieve Anxiety with Dentist Visits!
Sedation dentistry helps to provide a relaxing and calming experience for patients afraid of going to the dentist. We can administer sedation in a variety of ways and offer three levels of relaxation, minimal, moderate, and deep, depending on the level of anxiety at dentist visits the patient is experiencing.
Oral Sedation -
administered without needles or intravenous tubes. Patients take a pill before coming in to the office and feel drowsy and relaxed by the time they arrive for their appointment.
Intravenous (IV) Conscious Sedation -
helps to manage moderate to severe dental anxiety by administering drugs intravenously into the bloodstream. We monitor the patient throughout the procedure and most patients have amnesia about the visit.
Nitrous Oxide (N2O) -
also known as ‘laughing gas.’ It is used by more than 35 percent of all U.S. dentists that offer anxiety dentist services and is used in conjunction with local anesthetic.
Local Anesthetic –
numbing agent used to reduce pain and discomfort in treatment areas.
